why must you hide
back there
my love

behind the lens
you crouch and shrug

afraid of the raw
truth of the world

that's why you focus
change the lighting
and distort your perspective

until you see the world through
rose red glasses

is life not perfect enough for you
that you must put a backdrop behind it

does your reality not suffice?

I like the flow, and the accusation style you put this in. It be interesting to see a poetic response...
:icongarner-bloodstain:
okay, tis good to learn about it, then you won't walk up to someone, say something like " Nice sunglasses." and have them yell at you, " They arn't sunglasses."
:iconsheslikeclockwork:
it would, and if my dearest wrote, then perhaps that would happen. :giggle:

what a great poem about photographers.
my lens is too small for me to hide behind, but the darkroom is dark enough for me to disappear into. my altering of the world happens there anyway, i really only know how to point and shoot for the most part. i just get lucky sometimes and point at something beautiful

i wish that other people i know that are back behind there, would realize this.
